Terms and Conditions

Mura is free, it is not therapy, and it is not an emergency service. The rest is detail, and we have written it to be read.

These Terms

These terms are an agreement between you and Mura Inc. ("Mura", "we", "us"). They apply when you use mura.today, app.mura.today, or any part of the service. If you do not agree to them, please do not use Mura. We have tried to write them in plain language rather than legal shorthand, because terms you cannot read are not really terms you agreed to.

What Mura Is, and What It Is Not

  • It is a free, AI-powered mental wellness tool. It offers conversational support, guided breathing exercises, mood tracking, and optional screening questionnaires and camera-based checks.
  • It is not therapy, and Mura is not a therapist, psychologist, psychiatrist, doctor, or any kind of licensed clinician. No therapeutic or clinical relationship is created by using it.
  • It is not a diagnosis. The screening tools indicate things that may be worth discussing with a doctor. They do not diagnose any condition and they are not medical devices.
  • It is not an emergency or crisis service. It is not monitored by a human, and nobody is alerted if you are in danger. If you are in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a crisis line. See our crisis lines page.
  • It is not a substitute for professional care, and it should not be used to delay seeking it. See our Disclaimer for more detail on all of the above.

Who Can Use Mura

You must be 16 or older. By using Mura you confirm that you are. You also confirm that you have the legal capacity to agree to these terms, and that you are not barred from using the service under the laws that apply to you. If you are using Mura from a country where a service like this is restricted, that is your responsibility rather than ours to assess.

Guests and Accounts

  • You can use Mura as a guest, without an account, for 10 minutes per day. A guest session is not linked to you and does not carry over into your next conversation.
  • An account is created by email. There is no password: you sign in through a one-time link sent to your address, so keeping access to that inbox is what keeps your account secure.
  • You are responsible for what happens under your account. Tell us at contact@mura.today if you think someone else has access to it.
  • One person per account. Do not share an account with someone else: the conversation history and any summaries are personal, and a shared account exposes them.
05 /

Acceptable Use

  • Do not use Mura to harm anyone, including yourself, and do not use it to plan or encourage harm to others.
  • Do not use it on behalf of someone else, or enter another person's information into it, including a friend's or a patient's.
  • Do not use it to provide services to third parties, including any clinical, counselling or advisory service.
  • Do not attempt to extract the underlying prompts or models, scrape the service, automate access to it, or probe it for vulnerabilities without asking us first. Responsible disclosure is welcome at contact@mura.today.
  • Do not upload anything unlawful, or anything you do not have the right to share.

Your Content

What you write in Mura stays yours. You give us only the permission we need to run the service: to store your messages so the conversation has memory, to send them to our AI provider to generate a reply, and to produce the summaries you see in your account. We do not sell your content, we do not share it with advertisers, and we do not use it to train any AI model. Deleting your account deletes your messages. Guest conversations are deleted after 30 days. The Privacy Policy sets out exactly what is stored and for how long.

07 /

Third-Party Services

Mura is built on services run by other companies: an AI provider that generates responses, hosting, a database, and an email provider. Your use of Mura therefore involves those companies processing your data on our behalf, as described in the Privacy Policy. We choose them carefully and hold them to contractual restrictions, but we do not control them and cannot be responsible for their acts beyond what those contracts require of them.

08 /

Availability and Changes

Mura is provided as it is and as it is available. We may change, suspend, or discontinue any part of it, including features you rely on, and we may do so without notice if we have to. We do not promise that the service will be uninterrupted, that it will always be free, or that any particular feature will continue to exist. If we plan to stop the service entirely, we will give registered users reasonable notice by email and time to export their data.

09 /

Price

Mura is free to use today. There is no subscription, no trial period, and no payment details are collected. If we introduce paid features in future, they will be optional and clearly marked, we will not start charging for something you already use without telling you first, and a meaningful free tier will remain.

10 /

Ending Your Use

You can stop using Mura at any time, and you can delete your account and all of its data from Profile, then Privacy and data. We may suspend or end your access if you breach these terms, if we are required to by law, or if we reasonably believe your use puts you or another person at risk. Where we can do so safely and lawfully, we will tell you why.

11 /

Intellectual Property

The Mura name, the site, the app, and the software behind them belong to us. These terms do not give you any rights in them beyond permission to use the service as intended. The clinical frameworks and published research Mura draws on belong to their authors, and nothing here claims otherwise.

12 /

No Warranty

Mura is provided without warranties of any kind, to the fullest extent the law allows. AI-generated responses can be wrong, incomplete, or inappropriate to your situation, and the screening tools can indicate a risk that is not there or miss one that is. We do not warrant that the service is accurate, reliable, suitable for any particular purpose, or fit for any clinical use. Some consumer protection laws give you rights that cannot be excluded, and nothing here removes those.

13 /

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Mura is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential loss arising from your use of the service or your reliance on anything it tells you. Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited. [TO CONFIRM: any overall cap on liability, which for a free service is commonly a nominal sum, and which should be set with legal advice rather than guessed.]

14 /

Governing Law and Disputes

[TO CONFIRM: the governing law and the courts that have jurisdiction. This follows from where Mura Inc. is incorporated, which must be established before this clause is filled in.] If you have a problem, please contact us at contact@mura.today first. Most things are faster to resolve that way than through a formal process, and we would rather hear about it.

15 /

Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms. If a change materially affects your rights, we will notify registered users by email before it takes effect. Continuing to use Mura after that means you accept the updated terms. If you do not accept them, you can delete your account.

Contact

Questions about these terms, or anything else, go to contact@mura.today. If you are in crisis, please do not email us and wait: contact your local emergency number or a crisis line now.
